Last night we stayed in Geraldton which is 500 kilometres north of Perth. Our suite was painted brick a bit cell block h and the kitchen had mice! Today we visited the museum which gave the history of Dutch ships being wrecked on the reefs offshore and the sinking ofHMAS Sydney during the Second World War. Having complete the long flight to Perth yesterday we set off North to Cervantes on the Indian Ocean. On the way we stopped at the pinnacles national park. These are strange rocks sticking up through the sand. It was very hot walking around and fascinating. Cervantes is a small town right on the ocean and already as we go north it is feeling very remote.
