Just popping out..... Back in a jiffy!!!
Spent the past 3 days in Jaipur. Arrived on Wednesday after a 6 hour train journey from Delhi, which left Old Delhi station at 05:10!!!! Managed to sleep a bit on the train though to make up for the early start!!
Jaipur is much like Delhi, only on a much smaller scale. They both have the same 'problems' of mad traffic, beggars, homelessness, street vendors and touts fighting for yor trade, rickshaw drivers wanting your custom etc. But they're much nicer about it in Jaipur. If you say "No" to a vendor, tout or rickshaw driver, they respect your answer and leave you be. In Delhi, and especially Agra, they don't know the meaning of the word "No" and keep pestering and hounding you until you make it back to the car. And even then they don't let you shut the door!!!!!
When we arrived at our hostel in Jaipur we were warned by a few people about the nightmares I've just mentioned, so we were fully prepared for much of the same. If they thought Jaipur was hard they're in for a big, big shock when they make it Delhi!!!! Jaipur was a breeze in comparison!!!
Anyway, we bagged ourselves a good rickshaw driver for our 2 days of sightseeing around Jaipur!!! He took us to all the tourist spots and all the places he thought we'd like to see. Photos to follow!!!
Back to Delhi for a few days, then off to Singapore on Monday for some much needed cleanliness and fresh(er) air!!!!!!
