Day 27
After a trip to the beauty parlour and cliff get his hair cut -its back to the Fothergill's to pack - it's pouring with rain! We cook a BBQ for our hosts in the evening and to Cliff's delight they have a charcoal kettle BBQ! Needless to say he was grinning like a Cheshire cat while he cooked (Cliff has an aversion to gas BBQ's!)
Day 28
We leave in the pouring rain to drive to Katikati to meet Jen, Jim and baby wills. He's grown so much since I last saw him - it was great to catch up. We had a quick lunch in a restaurant called "Twickenham" and we parted ways to continue our drive to the Coromandel. We stop off in Thames to collect the marriage license and arrive in Hahei early afternoon.
The suite we are staying in is amazing, with views out to see - we can hear the crashing waves constantly. Its amazing! Everyone is checking the weather predictions for Thursday so its fingers crossed.
We walk down the beach to Luna for a great evening meal, as we walk home along the beach there is a full moon to guide the way - its 10.30pm but people are still on the beach and even swimming.
We get back and bump into another resident and spend the evening on the veranda, drinking wine and watching the full moon. Bliss!
Day 29
We meet the wedding planners at lunch to talk through tomorrows plans, and then off for a swim! We're both very relaxed in preparation for tomorrow! Again we walk along the beach for dinner and meet up with Peter and Denise our Dutch residents back on the veranda to drink more wine!!
Day 30 - Wedding Day!
Its finally here! And boy did the day go quickly! It was agreed that we couldn't get round to Cathedral Cove on the boat - so its the bus instead!
Nola arrives to do my hair and makeup - and at 3pm David and Stephanie arrive! After a bit of help getting into the dress - cliff is suitably impressed :)
Once at the cove its a short walk down onto the beach - and with suitable timing cliff manages to stand on my dress - ripping a whole in it! I didn't notice to later in the ceremony!! We find a lovely shady corner of the beach - and the sunbathers all back off. We exchange vows next to a waterfall, in the sunshine.
After a couple of glasses of champagne we start the photo's and begin to explore the magical location. It is more beautiful than we had imaged!
A couple more glasses of champagne later its back to the ranch and more champagne with our hosts - Joe and Raewyn, and Peter & Denise. Finally we wobble off for dinner at "The Church" (I thought it would be a suitable place to go given the day!). After a stonking meal its home to collapse into bed - I'm exhausted!
Day 31
Today we are both enjoying lazing around - some of the photo's of the wedding are now online at:

We're really pleased with them - it captures nicely the fun we had.
Tomorrow its off to Kerikeri in the Bay of Islands for the final part of our massive adventure!
