Hello everyone.
We've been in the south island of New Zealand since 23rd January and it's been fantastic. We flew into Christchurch and bought a small campervan the same day. We set off down the east coast of the island and did a loop up towards the west coast. We have seen some amazing lakes and mountains. we went to Mount Cook and saw our first glacier, from a distance. On the Otago peninusula we were really lucky to see yellow eyed penguins close to us on the beach as they are very rare. We also saw some huge sea lions and seals. We went to Milford Sound in Fjordland and went on a boat tour. We saw loads of dolphins swimming in front of the boat which was amazing. We then headed to Queenstown, adrenaline capital of the world! We went on the world's biggest rope swing which was incredibly scary, but worse was yet to come. The next day we jumped off a 134m bungy jump. It was amazing but very scary. We then went to Franz Josef glacier and did a whole day hike on the ice. This was one of the best trips we have done. We got to walk on the glacier up and down steps carved in the ice and through huge cervasses. We are now on our way up to the north of the south island for a few days then we'll be getting the ferry to the north island. Hope everyone is having fun, see you all soon x
