Delivered safely in Krabi after a 9 hour journey from Koh Pha Ngan, we found ourselves a guest house and then set about feasting on the local cuisine at the nearby Night Market, the highlight being a fantastic skewered, barbecued chicken breast for the equivalent of 30p.
Having originally planned to stay at Ao Phang Nga in order to go sea kayaking around the limestone bays, we opted instead to go on a guided day trip; the highlight of this being the trip to 'James Bond Island' (seen in the picture above), where The Man With The Golden Gun was filmed.
The trip began with a 2-hour minibus ride to Suwankhuha Temple where the main attraction was the familes of monkeys running around the place, once you've seen one temple . . .
We then boarded a longtail boat which took us out into the sea amongst the amazing scenery, eventually arriving at 'James Bond Island.' We had 45 minutes to explore the island in which time Rosa got a frame by frame account of the Bond film.As was expected, we shared the island with tens of stalls all selling the same souvenirs and Chinese tourists having photos taken of themselves cleverly holding their hands out to look as if they were holding the rock up, still very beautiful though.
The boat then took us to Koh Panyee Floating Village where we explored the various clothes and food stalls and admired the view, before returning us to the minibus.
It was then a 2 hour journey back to the guesthouse where we immediately had to rush out so Kev could get some more barbequed chicken.
