So it appears that the Philippines have a sun on there flag for a reason....its bloody hot! So hot that Kate had beads of sweat coming from the pores in her legs whilst sitting in the shade. Anyway the Philippines wasn't what we expected when we first arrived. After our long couple of days travelling we drove through slums, similar to those in India which surprised us, we really didn't know how poor many of the people were here. The people really made the Philippines though, they always had a huge smile, eager to know where your from and if they can help you, and they spoke perfect English which helped.
Our main reason for visiting the Philippines was for diving. It was truly amazing. The amount of fish we saw and the size of them were impressive. Unfortunately the trigger fish were also big and the most vicious we have ever encountered.
The beaches were the best we have seen on our travels, Boracay was impressive but Pandan Island was stunning. The landscape in general was breathtaking, lush green jungles and enormous volcanoes covered many of the 7,000 islands that make up the Philippines.
Unfortunately we only had three weeks to explore but we loved it, we'll definitely be back to see what we missed.
