Day 2 in Tokyo today (don't worry I doubt I'll manage to continue updating on a daily rate for too long!) and although I may not be a connoisseur of huge metropolis' I think Tokyo's got to be the best I've been to! It's insanely clean, I don't think I've managed to spot a single piece of chewing gum on the floor whereas they decorate the pavement lavishly back home. Everyone is incredibly orderly and polite to the point where when waiting for the train/metro they all queue one behind the other at specific points along the station and calmly walk on in rows when the doors open. AND if that wasn't enough the Japanese fashion scene is awesome. Oh and they warm your toilet seat for you! I promised a toilet related update so here it is. Next to the otherwise ordinary looking toilet in the hostel is a little panel of buttons which has options to control the warmth of the seat, a button to create stream of water for washing and my favourite of all a 'powerful deodorising' button! It's like an amusement arcade every time you use the loo although I must admit I haven't been brave enough to try out mist of the buttons just yet..I simply ponder the option of using them whilst I'm relaxing on my warm seat.. Sorry, enough about toilets I'm aware they may not be quite as fascinating to everyone else!
Today myself and Tom had a well deserved lie in after our mammoth day and didn't get out until 11ish. We headed straight to the Imperial Palace residence of the Japanese Royal family and spent a lovely hour or so wandering round the east gardens whilst Tom took sneaky photos of guards and unsuspecting Japanese. Then after a bit of lunch we went to the Tokyo Metropolitan Government Building which has the highest viewing platform over the city and we went up to the 45th floor and enjoyed amazing views of Tokyo whilst being immensely shocked by the scale of it. Tokyo is really big! Following this time was running away with us so we scooted over to Harajuku, the young and 'trendy' as Dad would say part of town. The various shops and outfits of the girls and boys in Harajuku were totally awesome and I was sorely tempted to chuck out all my clothes and restock entirely but unfortunately my budget wouldn't let me. It didn't help that we were wearing our travel clothes and therefore looked like twits next to the scenester Japanese types. We think we may have to return there as we didn't get to see all of it before dark and also just because we want to! Righto I seriously better get some sleep now as it's eleven thirty and I've got to be up at 3:30 am to get to the world's biggest fish market...
Thanks for all your messages we enjoy reading them :-)

Sian Sounds amazing! Mega-jealous. Also, I'd like to request a toilet description for each destination, please.
