So when the planned 4 days at the tour de france got canned with Hamish being sent to New York for work I saw an opportunity to get up to see Simon. I really wanted to get here but it was not looking likley so when I msg him, he informed me that that weekend he would be doing a fair bit of partying, and thats exactly what we have been doing. I flew in around mid day on Thrusday and followed Simons directions to a tee to meet him in Altona. Had a bit of dinner and then it was time to get the festivities under way. We had a few startes in very quick succession and then headed off to see the Killers concert. That was awersom with a full house going off. From there it was too the Reeperbaurn, the party area of town. This area is famous for its prostitures, sex shops and night life. Whilst the area has all the sex industry going on it also has all the young people coming in for a good time. We hit the drinks pretty hard and even mad the mistake of having a shot (more like full glass) of absynth. It was a pretty decents nights start the weekend. We woke the next day feeling pretty sorry for ourselves and had to spend the day helping Simon move to his new flat. We grabbed the hire car, got his stuff out of the ex`s house and then it was shopping time. Had to buy a couch, fridge, all the kitchen stuff and much more. We didnt get it all done till pretty late and we were still feeling a bit sore from the night before so we just cruised along the water front and had a quite ale. Still didnt get home till 2 but good to get it all done. Spent Sat seeing the city with Simon. We walked around the inner lake, saw some burt out church from the war, listened to some church bells from 1 meter away and inside the tower (bloody loud) and basically walked a hell of along way. Its a really pretty city with some cool archicture and lots of culture. The people are friendly and there is alot of cafe scene to get into. Sat night was a big one that I dont think Ill forget in a hurry, that is if I can remember any of that. We met up with a few friends at a bar and then headed to a private party that was going off. It was some models party so you can only guess what the crowd was like (damn HOT) So we kept the drinks coming and pretty much danced all night trying on some of our best moves. I stress trying out cos as far as I know out of 5 of us I think we all went home alone. Hmm and it wasnt from a lack of trying on any ones account. So come about 4am we headed for the Reeperbarn to do some damage there. Did some more drinking, some mexican shots and next thing you know its full day light and were rocking home around 6am with Burger King for breakfast. Awersome. Didnt get up till 2 today, head a bit sore but not as bad as friday. Went to a huge central park with the rest of Hamburg and just walked around checking it all out. It had lots and lots of ponds and water features and as it was a 30 deg day everybody was there just lapping it up. Headed for the water front and enjoyed the beer you see to the right. Having a quite one tonight as simon works tomorrow and im going to go and see a concentration camp. I rekon that will be an experience. Think were going out tomorrow night but see what happens.
