This weekend Pippa and I spent in Culmstock with much family. Chris (Pippa's brother), Jeanette, Michael & Eve came down from Lower Langford while Pen (Pippa's sister), Bones, Max and Milly came over from London.
It was the 4th anniversary of Pippa's father, John, passing away and we all got together for the weekend to see each other and remember. It was a really happy and very loud house with children running everywhere and learning the art of camel Rustling, Wii playing, and Wizard cave and bridge location.
Nenna (Pippa's other sister) and Sam unfortunately could not make it, but we hope to catch up with them in London soon.
Which brings me to the other piece of news for those not already in the know, I am returning to Australia. Yes I foolishly took advice from the UK Border Agency in Saudi Arabia and came to England on the recommended visa. Just to find out it is the wrong visa and I have to return to Australia to apply for the correct visa. Something I can not do in England.
I knew when the advisor in Saudi said 'En Shala' at the end of the sentence I should have been warned he probably had no idea what he was talking about. But I thought as he worked for the British Embassy Visa Office, the En Shala would loose its potency. I was wrong.
So now Pippa and I are almost broke due to the expense of a return ticket to Australia and I shall be heading to Canberra and hopefully back to Calvary to work and save and find the good grace of friend's floors to sleep on. As everything Pippa and I own is in England I shall have to begin once again my University recipe book of '101 Ways to Serve Rice'. No Delia Smith or Jamie Oliver but my favourite recipe was "Rice Al Fresco" this is steamed rice eaten outside....weather permitting.
So Qantas flight something to Sydney via Singapore and Melbourne will have little old me on it. I am leaving on the 8th of March from Heathrow and arrive on the 10th in Sydney and another 4 - 5 months away from Pippa on the other side of the world. Not that I am being sarcastic but I never thought England had such a huge supply of ER nurses to let one leave the country for 5 months. Therefore I give a pre-emptive 'sorry' to everyone in the waiting rooms of ER departments in England.
But I am looking forward to seeing people at home and having a catch up. After all several friends have been married since I left and I am sure a certain puppy in Rivett is getting bigger.
So too many followers of the blog...see you soon, and to the ones I will be leaving behind for a while, see you a little later
