Phebe wrote the main diary for today because I was pretty well out of it. We boarded our jeep and took a different route to the Tanzania border this time crossing the dry Lake Amboseli. Along the way the other bus had a flat tire and when the driver went to change it the spare was flat as well. They had to wait for our group to be deposited at the rest stop so our driver could go back to pick them up.
We needed to complete two forms in Kenya. We needed to get out of our jeep and stand in a long line in order to get our passports stamped. A few feet down the road the same process was repeated on the Tanzania side.
We met our new driver Michael Lazier and off we went. I was feeling very weak and sleepy and dozed for much of the drive. We stopped in the city of Arusha for lunch and I just sat by myself and had a Sprite.
The landscape at our new park Tarangire was full of these wonderful trees called Baobab. This is the same tree that I have seen at Disneyland.
By evening I was feeling somewhat better but just had a few bites to eat.
