We thought we would have good weather today and so once again dressed in shorts. We had only gone about 5 miles out of town before it again started to rain.
We headed west to the town of Cheb (pronounced Hep). Here we were given a one-hour polka lesson, which was fun but I never seemed to get the hang of it. Afterwards we were given a little free time that we spent by going to the supermarket where we purchased a new water heater and some "fest food" for dinner tonight. I found some rolls that looked very soft for Pat's cheese sandwiches. We also visited several crystal stores. We found a crystal basket that we liked. It was big, heavy and did not come its original box so whether we get it home in one piece or not, only time will tell. (NOTE- it did make it home ok.) I also got my Christmas tree ornament.
After lunch we went a stroll through the town seeing the architecture and the castle, which is in ruins.
It was then on to the very nice town of Locket. This town had a very picturesque castle built on the side of a high cliff and surrounded by a bend in the river.
We returned to out hotel and were getting ready to prepare our feast when Pat discovered that those nice soft rolls I had found for him were stuffed with chocolate. Since he had no bread, he decided to take pieces of cheese and wrap them around the sweat Madeleine cakes we had purchased. Ugh!
