Sorry guys, just a little bit more of a boring update of what I did before I left Cairns. . . . .What a top last night. . . . I was able to get a ticket for the gig. . . .! It was a real locals venue, so mixed it up and didn’t feel like a tourist. . . . First I packed all my stuff and left the Bohemia and went down to Tamzyns. . . . We had a quick beer then got picked up by 2 other girls (sorry rubbish with names, think one was Michelle). So we drove out to the suburbs to the venue which was some converted old huge water tanks. It is very arty and hippy chick! There were loads of chilled hippy dudes there. . . .

Now, I was asked if I liked Reggae, which I replied yes, I like all sorts of music. . . . Now why I was asked that I will never know! The reason being the music was not reggae, other than there being a few bongo’s!
So, we got there and I had to eat, so had this homemade sausage roll thing, was nice and I bought everyone a beer (Sorry, Bourbon and Diet for Xanthe). We chatted for a bit and I got to know the 2 girls a bit more, still don’t remember their names though. . . . One of them lived in the UK for 5 years and has lots of family over there!
The warm up act came on, a crazy English hippy dude, who travels the world sharing the love with his music. . . .

Now get this, he is one of them human beat box dudes and my god is he good. . . . . .In fact he was awesome, the beats, noises, sounds plus sort of singing he came out with something else! It is really hard to explain, but very very good!
Needless to say it was absolutely roasting in there and was a pleasure to see everyone else sweating as much as I do! I looked like I had fallen in a river! We went out for some fresh air in the interval before the main act came on. They were called Ganja girl or something. . . . ! Will try and find out, because they were awesome. . . .
Very different to anything that I had ever seen, a 5 – 6 piece band, playing didgeridoos, Bongo’s, traditional aboriginal sticks, Bass guitar and a girlie at the back mixing some awesome beats, which gave it a real dance vibe. . . . It took a little getting going to really get into the dancing, I haven’t really danced properly for a bit, but when I got going I couldn’t stop, I really got absorbed into the feel of it. . . . Like I say, hard to explain, but put it this way, I was feelin the love! Hahahaha!
Think you may like it David, something else to download. . . . .Yeah baby!
The gig finished about 11 ish and we headed back to Tamzyns, I jumped in the shower, for obvious reasons and then headed to the bus depot to catch my over night Greyhound to Airlie beach, what fun. . . .
It wasn’t too bad actually, as I am still alive and here now in Airlie, I have settled nicely into my Hostel, chilled out for a bit and guess what, I have had a cheeky beer! I did some boring chemist shopping earlier for deodorant, shower gel and stuff, plus got 2 more pairs of sunnies to replace the ones I lost the other day! Get this 2 pairs for $25, that a tenner! So it doesn’t matter too much if I lose these ones. . . . !
Am now sat in another bar listening to some live music. . . . Life is good. . . . Think I have said that a few times lately. . . . ?!?!
Anyway, going on the boat tomorrow for 3 days and nights, so really looking forward to that!
Take it easy people. . . . Love ya. . . (Told you I was feeling the love!)
