Arrived in Hat Yai today after spending 5hours cramped on a bus with crap air con. First impressions - Hat Yai is very cultured, but not the most glamorous of cities. loads of shopping opportunities, but otherwise not alot to do. Like homeaway from home with McD's, KFC, Pizza Hut, and Sizzlers - wont be eating at any of them. Hat Yai is just a stop off for us though, as we move through to Malaysia on Monday 7th Dec. Au Nang, or rather a good scooter ride away from Au Nang, was very nice, with great views etc. Gave us a chance to unwind and relax, though the sunshine fell out with us and shied away. Phi phi islands tour was amazing, as was the elephant trek we did in Krabi too. All is well so far, though amanda's leg may fall off if she gets bitten much more... dont think I taste good enough for the mosquitos. :)
