Rob and shelley on tour
hey you guys
Today we headed off to Monkey Mia, home of the wild dolphins. We arrived pretty early (8am) and already there were buses lined up with people. We managed to get a really good spot on the beach and the dolphins came up really close.
I had had a chat with our new driver, Enzo the previous evening about wanting to feed the dolphins, bless him, he arranged it for me and it was absolutely amazing. Mine decided to roll over on his side and flash his pearly whites at me, brilliant. I put the fish down to him and he just munched it and swam away.
Apparently, this happens everyday at the same time and if we had more time here I would have been here every day doing the same thing.
We then headed off to Ocean Park which is run by 2 guys who met at university. Whilst they aren't marine biologists, they are the only people on the West Coast who are licensed to keep turtles and whenever any wash up injured, the council always brings them here. We saw a fab big turtle and he was sooo cute flapping his big legs, he was completed un-coordinated and it was the funniest thing to see.
We also saw some sharks and watched them being fed, brilliant. Rob got some great video footage of the dolphins, turtle and sharks so hopefully you'll be able to see that soon.
A dream come true today with the dolphins and turtle, maybe not about the sharks though!!
Must go for now, speak to you soon
Lots of Love
Shelley and Rob
