The story so far....
Hello Again - so we have made it as far as Victoria Falls, a mecca for adventure and fun! We only arrived yesterday so we are yet to actually see the falls but we are leaving it a couple of days as there is a chance it will be a full moon on Monday and so great to see both during the day and nightime.
I have yet to decide whether I am going to jump off Vic Falls bridge with only a tiny piece of elastic tied to my ankles - I am sure Kylie will let you know if the Bungi failed. Nevertheless, the gorge and the bridge are absolutely spectacular and the water is thundering through. It is a shame because we had hoped to white-water raft down the Zambezi but being this is the \\\'rainy\\\' season the water level is too high. Incidentally it is probably about 25 degrees+ outside, not a cloud in the sky apart from the steam/spray rising from the falls itself.
We arrived into the Falls yesterday morning by way of overnight train from Bulawayo which of course I found very exciting - a short taster I suppose for our Trans- Mongolian journey. Bulawayo I found to be an interesting city with wide streets and plenty of colonial style buildings. In fact Zimbabwe has been a great change from the previous countries we have visited in Africa due to the amount of development that has taken place - It looks and feels much more like a western country although on the downside there is a lot of hardship and poverty evident. A couple of the girls on our trip have been offered babies for sale!
Over the previous week we have seen the Great Zimbabwe Ruins which were fascinating and also relaxing at a private game park in Zimbabwe where we had the chance to walk with Lions. Brilliant.
Well that\\\'s it for now - internet still slow. Hope all is well on this May day and we will post more when we can. We are now entering the final phase of our Africa journey - four weeks to go.
Happy Mothers Day to Mum H for the 9th (I think that is the right date Mum).
