Hello peeps...
Long time no speak! So since sunday i need to catch up on!
Monday: was our orientation day,so expecting 4 hours of powerpoint info.this is one of things we paid for in our programme, it was really good and informative, opened ourselves a bank account alot easier than at home, got a tax file number sent away for because as travellers we are in the higher tax bracket, but we can claim it back before we leave and we can get upto£4k each depending on how many hourse etc. which is good its like a little saving thing for us to move on with. They told us about surf and sea safety and i promised ross if we got ourselves a job we could go surf camp for 4 days, accom and food included, its only coz it costs $900 for us both and we dont want to pay that without the guarantee of a job, becuase we will be home alot sooner than we want..SKINT!!Lol! We done so much walking today, back and forward to the work and travel place...All the way through it i just coughed, ive got a tickly cough and a sore throat since i got here and its murder of a night time...so dosing up on fishermans friends..or fishy friends as me and ross call them :) We want to find a job asap and thats what we were doing after the orientation for a little while, quite fancying going to Tasmania (which by the way is an aussie state for those who dont know)(little island below Oz) because its not a party island and me and ross are not party people...lol.
Also we know we want to move on from Sydney already, its too cosmopolitan for us, we want to see the real Oz, i mean backpacking is not what they say it is here in Sydney they are all dressed up to the nines getting hammered, what happend to being smelly and walking barefoot telling people your travlling tales around a campfire...NOTE: You are not a backpacker if you have a pair of stilhettos and ghd's (hair striaghtners for my nana n gramps) in your gucci rucksack!!!!! FACT!We then slept for 14hours lol!!
So...Tuesday: We got a free cruise with our programme which we thought was gonna be crap but it was good, 1hour and 15mins..see pics of the Sydney Opera House and the Bridge, we want to quickly see all these sights before we move on, to say we have been :) we also went the Wildlife Centre...was really good and informative, we found out that kangaroos and kuala's are born really tiny jellybeans with only forearms and they crawl up to there mams pouch ( marsupial animal one with a pouch :) ) and they attatch to a teat and they stay in there for 10month (kangaroos) crazy!! We also were good fish today and packed a lunch up, sarnies crisps and square bars and 2 bottles of water :D instead of eating out! When we got home we booked to see the blue mountains tommorow, which regardless of what my nana said they are NOT in Virginia as we are in the totally wrong country for that :) we then read for a little while but i felt really sick..so i went to sleep!!
Wednesday: Blue Mountain day ( see pics) we met a nice scottish girl on her own called Laura who only looked our age but was 32...but she was only small like a little jellybean!! she was nice! we had a brill day seeing some of the real australia, going on a sky elevator thing which went across the canyon and also the worlds steepest railway..see pics for the measurments it was crazy!! Google the blue mountains and the 3 sisters for more info. We also had all you can eat buffet lunch included, twas nice :) even though we made a massive tub of pasta which smelled of garlic all day hehe!! we can have that for tommorow dinner! went to see a nice quaint town called Leura and then the Olympic Stadium, getting a cruise home after 12 hours...Phew!!! Stopped at Nandos to treat ourselves and have some grub with Laura who is going home on Thurs!!
Going to upload all piccys soon...Love you all lots Kelly & Ross xxx
