Saturday 12th April - Happy Birthday Joe (our nephew)We checked out from Sullivan's hotel Perth and headed for Freemantle.The boys had taken a taxi at 6.15 am to go on a fishing trip from Freemantle.Sue and I had a bit longer in bed before clearing the rooms and checking out.We drove to Fremantle for a shopping expedition, parked up then asked a lady how to get to the markets by the Quay.She said easiest way was to jump in the back of her car!So we did!Her mother aged 85 looked a little surprised, but hey we got where we wanted to go and they got to chat to a couple of pomms!Very bizarre after all the years of drumming into our kids never to get into a car with a stranger.We later met the men off their fishing trip and headed south to Busselton to stay at Sandy Bay chalets.We have a fantastic 2 bedded chalet just outside the main resort, it seems the internet has come up trumps this time.We had a little panic as we discovered school holidays started today and with the weather so gorgeous at this time of year most families take a beach break.Accommodation is in short supply especially on this costal route.During our trip down we experienced our first road kill - a parrot flew straight at the car, the road was littered with green and blue feathers!Sue the twitcher has not got over it yet!
