Sun 6th - Wed 9th April. - TokyoWe arrived in the sunshine, found our hotel by mid afternoon and got checked in.The forecast for the next couple of days was not very special so sadly we decided not to book the trip to Mount Fuji as it really would have been a waste of money with nothing but clouds to see.We booked on a panoramic city tour and harbour cruise on the Monday. It was very informative, but we did have to keep dodging the showers - the rep tried very hard to get us all to purchase a brolly, it seems to be a necessary accessory in Tokyo, all the locals have one!Tuesday's weather was what you might call naffing it down all day. We purchased day tickets and travelled around the city by metro.Although much of the day was spent underground we still managed to get absolutely soaked. We found ourselves slightly at a loose end as Tokyo in the rain isn't the best place in the world to be unless you are looking to do lots of shopping (which obviously at this point of our trip we weren't!).Rob got to see Akiharbara - Electric city so he at least was pleased.Rob and Rich then went off for a sushi lunch whilst Sue and I retired to Mac Donald's to dry out with some comfort food!!We were due to fly out of Japan on Wednesday evening, thankfully the day was fine and bright so we visited the Imperial Palace gardens. It was very beautiful and although much of the cherry blossom was past its best, one of my dreams came true this week. We still managed to get sight of quite a few trees at various stages of bloom, and we have loads of photos of every colour blossom.Overall Tokyo is a very artistic and beautiful place.Every where is so clean, and the people are very helpful, nothing seems too much bother to them.We have enjoyed our stay and are really glad we chose to come here, it would have been better if we hadn't had the day of rain, but it didn't dampen our spirits. Now onto Australia…….
