Monday 26 February 2007 - East Coast adventure begins!

Long 13 hour overnight journey to our first stop - Byron Bay. Checked into Cape Byron Lodge at 9am and straight to bed - never can sleep on the overnight coaches!

Went for a mooch around Byron Bay - home to the hippies! lots of dreadlocks and strong smell of pot! Walked to the lighthouse - almost the most eastern point in Australia!

Tuesday 27 February 2007 - Everybody go surfing!

Picked up by Mojo Surf School to try this surfing lark! Really looks easier than what it is! Made our way to Lennox Head... went to assess the surf! - yep looks great!

After a lot of tuition and rehersal on the sand we were let loose to hit the surf! Yes, looks a lot easier than it is - spent a good couple of hours getting bashed by the waves and getting knocked off our boards. Before the end we did manage to stand - even if it was only for a few seconds! Great afternoon but back home battered and bruised!

Rewarded ourselves with a night in 'Cheeky Monkeys' and 'The Railway Bar'.
