hey everybody! Its Rick.
I think me and adam are taking it in turns writing blogs, that seems to be the way its working out! well this has been a mad week, seen as most people speak spanish and me and adam can only speak poor english its been a challenge! But like any challenge we've managed through fantastic displays of sign language never seen before haha as you can imagine! we´ve also been trying to learn as we've gone along. we've learn´t some basic manners and how to tell idiots to "get back!" we arrived in guanajuato on thursday morning. arriving there was abi of an adventure in itself because we went to the airport the day before not knowing where we wanted to go, and decided we would just dive on the next plane that was cheap and soon. we actually got speaking to an amazing police officer at the airport who we later called superman, because he helped us out so much and pretty much walked around with us for about 3hours getting us sorted to go to guanajuato. All of a suddern airport safey was no longer an issue, now it was to get rick and adam on a flight. There was so many complications with trying to get that flight but superman sorted everything out! So we set off from Tijuana airport at 1am and got to guanajuato for about 6am local time. We got in a taxi when we arrived and set off to a hostel in the town centre adam has scribbled down on a pieace of tissue paper a few ours previous. The taxi driver drove at about a million miles an hour and we arrived in the the city centre just as it was sunrise. Its an amazing place guanajuato, we actually drove through a series of old mines to get to the centre which were dug up years ago for mining, but are now used for people to travel into the city.
when we arrived, we were pretty much dropped off and given our bags not a clue where we were! so we wandered the streets for abit looking for a hostel, but everything was closed. we eventually saw a sign over a door that was like a barn door saying hostel so we ran the bell hoping there was some room at the inn, i remember saying to adam "i feel like were bloody mary and joesph!"
So the door was unlocked from the inside, and there was a mexican girl stood there, didnt say a word. so she said yes and turned around and walkd infront of us without saying a word, through the building which very earie. it had a cathothic theme which joe would have loved. with sculptures everywhere. shetook us upstairs without saying a word with just lead us into a dark room then turned out the light to revel about 10 other travellers which were tryin to sleep. we just climbed in bed and went to sleep because we hadnt slept properly for about 24hours.
Guanajuato is an amazing place, its a very small city. where a lot of mexican familys go for their holidays. All the roads are only wide enough for one car to pass at a time! It actually looks like all the houses are built on top of eachother, because the house are built on all the sleep mountains that surround the city.
