Surfers Paradise is not exactly what we expected, we had visions of a small little town with a cool beach and amazing waves however we arrived to sky scrapers along the sea front! It was a pretty cool town though with what turned out to be a very good night life- it would of been rude not to take advantage of it!First day we headed for the beach and the waves were MASSIVE! Rich had a go at taking them on but soon came back looking battered and bruised! That night we decided to head out for a few beverages however the bouncer would not let Rich in due to his 'thongs'(flip flops) after some misunderstanding of Rich thinking the guy was enquiring about his underwear it was clear that tomorrow we would be on the hunt for some shoes for Rich! So the next day the hunt began and we headed to Pacific Fair which was a ridiculous size shopping mall just outside surfers, after getting Rich some bargain pumps we decided it was time for abit of christmas shopping! We both got our $50 budget and headed for the shops...after a couple of hours we met back up bags behind backs and both pretty pleased with ourselves!...roll on christmas! That night we (plus the new shoes) hit the town and somehow managed to bump into everyone we'd met along our travels, a girl from thailand, one from frasers and plenty more lads we'd met along the way, so a reunion began! On our final day we hit 'wet n wild'....this place was huge...and very cool! Shelly was feeling a little worse for wear so after falling asleep on the bus on the way there Rich picked the biggest ride he could find with a vertical drop and off we went! The day was a blur of screams, drops, splashes and waves....and it all finished with Hannah Montana on the big screen over the pool and krispy Kream donughts...yum yum! After one more day on the beach of dodging skyscraper shadows we jumped on the bus to Byron bay!
