Hi! Well im coming to the end of my stay here in Kiwiland. Ive really enjoyed New Zealand and i definately have to come back some day and visit the south island. This morning i arrived back in Auckland after an 11hour night bus journey from Wellington. Wellington is a really nice city. I did all the touristy things like going up the cablecar, visiting Ti Papa, the national museum and i even did a guided tour of the parliament buildings. Check me out! Im getting cultured in my old age! But by far the best thing, and the most geeky thing ive done yet, was doing the Lord of The Rings Tour. We visited many locations where they filmed scenes from the film, such as Hobbitan Woods, Rivendell, Gardens of Isengard etc. Theres nothing that remains of the sets so you have to use a bit of imagination, but we were supplied with film stills to compare what we were looking at. We even had a drink in the famous Chocolate Fish Cafe, where all the stars used to hang out. Its round the corner from Peter Jacksons' modest family home. We drove by and you can see his oscars sitting by the window. Didnt see the man himself though! So at the moment im just getting myself together before my flight to Chile tommorrow night. Just bought my spanish phrase book so i must get learning. Will say bye for now and i will be in contact from South America-how exciting!!
