Exploring the known and unknown
Day 99
28July 2013
Bratislava,
(I am running a few days behind due to internet connection problems...which could be my laptop playing up, however I have the same issues with my samsing tablet)
A short bit about this day. Too hot to do much and too hot to write. Like in Tallinn, Riga and Vilnius etc., Bratislava offers a free city tour which is something I have grown to like. It was my intention to do this today; the starting point being a mere few hundred meters away.
The place where I am staying could not have been in a better position, right at the central town square. They call it "The white elephant" for reasons that it located in the best possible position but is also very stark. Never mind as long as everything is clean and friendly, it good enough for me. The walking tour started at 11 Am. However while on my way I felt very hot and sat down at a coffee shop with a cold drink. Just down the road was that building where I saw the temp last night. AT 10.45AM I walked over and saw that it was a stunning 42 degrees C.! No walking tour for me thanks; I went to a large museum instead, mainly to get out of the heat. After that there was nothing else to do than to go back to the hostel and have a sleep. However I managed to see some interesting things though.
So a short story and a few pictures.
