Hello Everyone,
When are you going to write another blog? I have been asked several times.
Well here it is, although a bit different than as I had planned.
On the final page of my last blog I mentioned that you would hear from me when my friend Gert arrived in Australia. Gert arrived on October 30.
To refresh your mind, I was riding with Gert in Germany during August this year when he had an unfortunate accident on his motor cycle and we had to terminate the trip. Later in the month we travelled to Scandinavia together, but this time by car.

When Gert arrived in Brisbane he wanted to write his own daily blog and used my laptop to do so, hence I decided to wait and consolidate our adventures in a few pages which I would write later.
A few weeks before Gert's arrival I had purchased a motorcycle for him (BMW 100RT) and made it ready to do some touring around Brisbane and beyond.
The bike chosen had 77.000 km on the clock which is not all that much for a BMW 20 years old.
I spent some days servicing and checking over the bike and making it ready for some serious touring around the country side.
The Brisbane area has a lot to offer. Close by where we live there are some mountain roads reaching upto 600 meters in height and many undulating twisting roads challenging any rider; we used them to get Gert acquainted with the bike and riding on the left hand side of the road.
At night Halloween was upon us so we ventured to a nearby event in Manly to see what it was all about.
I will cover our month in four or five pages and let the pictures tell the story rather than going into a lot of written details. We mainly stayed in the Brisbane area within 400 km radius of Brisbane, and spent a week in Cairns.
