Exploring the known and unknown

Why write another blog
To blog or not to blog is an issue which never came up 20 years ago. It used to be a notebook on which pages the daily adventures (if you could call it that) were penned down and recorded; something which I almost never failed to do. Two or three lines a day would be enough the jog the memory at a later date and bring it all back from the grey matter to the 3D movie theatre behind eye balls. Last year I blogged daily which at times became a chore keeping and robbing me of time and at times from the things I wanted to do ; sleeping was one of them.
So from now on a bit less of it and short and more to the point. A few lines a day for my own save keeping as it is the only way to record ones feelings at the times when things happen. I endeavor to fill the pages whenever I feel inclined to blurb out some of what the world has been throwing at me.
At present I am in a Qantas jet flying over Indonesia towards Singapore and my ultimate destination of Saigon or now called Ho Chi Min City.
Last year I missed my plane due to the fact that the Russian Embassy had been hanging to my passport longer than promised resulting in cancellation of my flight. A refund came back in the shape of a credit note to be used within 12 months of the issue date of my ticket, so it was a matter of "use it or lose it". I had given a new destination some thought by way of Taiwan which would a new place to visit but needed a bit of research first. Time for research I did not have much of due to the sale of my house and the work it provides to finalize all that goes with it. Vietnam I know fairly well and could do with another visit exploring new areas.
This time the excitement of reaching my goal is absent. Too much has happened lately to blur my focus, worst of all, the death of two friends who passed away during the last fortnight, both of them avid readers of my blog and enjoying the ride. I saw them both last year , one in Holland and one here in Aus not realizing that it would be the last time to talk to them. Somehow I need to come to grips that this is part of aging and the age group I have slowly moved in to. One thing though, it makes me even more determent to do the things I like most. However being confronted with a sudden phone call or email is a hard pill t swallow.
See you on the road
anyway if you are interested -lets hear it.
