Exploring the known and unknown
Day 86
15 July
101 what?
For people living in Western Europe and the UK, Slovenia/Croatia would be an excellent holiday destinations. The distance is not all that far and good weather is almost guaranteed.
I can't tell much about Sibenik although I walked through the city during the morning. As always it is best to visit the local museum to find out about the town but today is"International museum cleaning day” (Monday) so like 99% of the other worlds museums, today the museum was closed.
The map showed a road along the coast with a lot of dots on it, this means a very scenic route and it was!
Rocky outcrops on one side and the Adriatic coast on the other. This part of the land is called Dalmatia so I knew what to do while riding. I looked and looked but not one of them appeared. I thought that after the disappointment in Thailand, where I did not spot a single Siamese twin or Siamese cats, and Siberia where Siberian tigers were all but absent I was hoping to spot just one Dalmation. I didn’t care about the other one hundred just that one would do. But thus far nothing.
Zadar is a beautiful city with shiny and slippery street hundreds of years old plus an almost complete intact city wall. The interesting fact is that one of the roads runs on top of the wall. I had a look in the town today but have a more detailed look tomorrow.
