The meeting of the family in the city of love. It's been three months since I left home so I was very excited when I meet up with Liam, Mum, Dad, Lynne and Broph. But within 5 minutes it felt like I had never left home (especially with Dads snoring). We stayed at a wonderful bed and breakfast with a very homely feeling. It even had a big garden for Mum and Lynne.
Spent the day exploring Venice. So interesting to see what it would be like to live in water. We seen the gas station on the side of the city where the boats fill up, the rubbish boat, a water ambulance and even a boat rushing past with a coffin on the back. Very intriguing.
Had a look at Saint Mark's Cathedral, then ferried over to Murano Island where Venician glass is made ( all made away from the mainland as the fires caused by the kilns kept destroying the city). Watched a glass blowing show and then had a look around to take some home with us. On our walk back our of Venice we discovered how hard it can be to not get a bit disoriented but Liam had it sorted and we made it back.
The food is already so much better with the parents around. Mum and Lynne cooked us a really good pasta meal with Italian pasta we had picked up in Venice. And I discovered that in Europe if you order a hamburger and fries, you will get some fries and a hamburger pattie, nothing else.
