Motor biking, mountains and avalanches
A great three days in the Mia Chau area up in the mountains. I've met the friendliest locals and backpackers of my whole trip around here. we've stayed in a home stay in the rice paddies where we cycled through the local markets and spent 3 days motorbiking through the amazing scenery that ranged from lakes and waterfalls to pointy peaked mountains. We ate with the locals in a bamboo house where we tried fried crickets (nice, taste just like chicken) mountain snails and various meats. We spent today biking down to a lake where we had booked a fishing boat with others to go for a swim off of a rocky island. Sam and I climbed a rock face so we could jump off into the water off of a ledge. The second time we climbed it the rocks shifted whilst we were 12ft up launching rocks and boulders at us. Escaped with only cuts and bruises nothing rice wine can't fix. A real Indiana jones day.
