So we began our day after our hesitant sleep in Aranyaprathet by collecting our bags and walking to a tuk tuk rank, now I don't know if you know what size a tuk tuk is but they are small especially for three western guys let alone there 80L back packs! After packing our selves in like a game of Tetris we set off for the border. One important thing to know about Cambodia is the police force and other government bodies are corrupt as are most in east Asia, so our Cambodian visas costed us a little more than anticipated but not by much a few pounds maybe but at last we are here! From the border we got a taxi to Siem Riep a long but scenic route that gave us our first taste of Cambodia. Although the only thing that was on my mind was getting a meal! As we hadn't eaten since our pizza in Bangkok! (Excluding the packet of crisps in taxi). After eating and exploring a bit of the town we visited the Great Lake and got a boat to visit the floating village and when I say floating village I mean a full village, school, pig farm, restaurants, police station and of course the village crocodile farm! On this trip we donated a big box of chicken noodles to the orphanage which would provide dinner for two or three nights for 20 children. Our guide then took us to the floating market where he got us a few cans of beer whilst we chilled out next to the crocodile farm which housed 5 or 6 large old crocs, the guide provided some sort of fish sausage stuffed with chilli and a load of minature prawns. The people in Cambodia seem much more friendly than that of Bangkok already, the only people who anoy you are the tuk tuk drivers! Every one of them will ask you even if you turned down the one next to him! But at the end of the day they are doing there job and just trying to earn a living and I'd rather them there than not. The temple of Angkor Wat in the morning!
