20/12/09 - day 11.
got up around half 8, had a tree trek booked for half 9 which is a canopy tour involving 12 zip lines and various height tree platforms that you zip between. there´s 3.5 km worth of lines and it was well fun. you were harnassed in so the danger was safe and it felt a bit like flying! oh and it takes place in a forest. to get up there had to take a big old 4x4 which was on a very scenic route, though INCREDIBLY bumpy and rollercoaster-esque.
i did manage to sustain a minor injury however in the form of a slight rope burn on my wrist from the zip line right at the end when my hand came a little bit loose - the one you use to break. other than that, very cool.
didnt get back to the hostel until about 4pm by which time i was knackered and starving so got some rice and meat (which may have been beef) from a cheap eatery close by. went back to the hostel and caught up with the other who had been to see a waterfall, had a beer, and chatted to a couple of israelis. ryan, the owner of this hostel as well as the one i stayed at in panama city, turned up and that evening we all went for a WELL nice meal. i had steak and chips and splashed out $4 on it, plus a few bottles of balboa.
back to the hostel afterwards with the others where micah, who works at the hostel, played a sublime song ´what i got´ among other tunes. went to bed around 1am.
