Bonito
Once we had had our final massive lunch at the Pantanal we hit the road for a short trip, 4 hours!, to Bontio. Along the way we were anble to sit out on the roof seats of the truck which was great fun with a mixture of amazing scenery, good speed and a lot of bumps!
When we arrived in Bonito we were given our room keys and for the first time we did not have to share a room, you would not believe how such a simple thing could make you so happy, and probably others as all of our clothes were dirty and worn several times! Next off to a birthday party and my first South American red wine which turned up in an ice bucket- oh well the Brazilians are not known for their wine now I know why!
The following day we went snorkelling in a very clear river, 40 meters visbility, lead by our guide Pedro. Pedro gave us a fantastic briefing in English ending saying...
"If you see a Caimen or an Anaconda swims past then count yourself very lucky"- not quite what we were thinking as we entered the water in our wetsuits. Even more concerning was when he pulled on his full headgear and facemask!!! As it happened we did not see either of these predators and got out a little disappointed. A fantastic trip floating down the river seeing loads of massive fish, another great day out on the Dragoman tour.
Anyway we are now off to Igassu falls and have a 15 hour truck day tomorrow leaving at 5.30am (don´t feel too sorry for us!). The card school will be in full swing and I will continue to establish my position of the person with the weakest bladder on the truck! We hope that you are all very well- until next time.
