Hey after taking the ferry from Wellington down to the south island. The ferry journey was really nice on a huge boat and the nearer we got to the south island the better and better the views were getting, we both think we are really going to love the south island. We arrived in Wellington mid afternoon and only having 1 day there we headed straight out. We looked around the musuem which was really cool and had the biggest octopuss ever caught. Right, River Valley is even smaller than Waitomo. We basically just turned up to a hostel in the middle of knowhere with nothing else to do we just got a load of booze and started a fire and justed chatted and drank all night long! Hey People. Waitomo is a really small place where there isn't a great deal to do. A bunch of people from our bus went to do black water ratfing, which is basically floating down a cave in a rubber tube. We didnt want to do this so we went of exploring!! Hey. After being told rotorua smells bad...we weren't dissapointed. The place reeks of eggs. this is basically because the place is full of geysers whihc are constantly erupting sulphur into the air. We went to a place where one of the geysers is continusely erupting...the smell was really bad here but it was an amazing thing to see.
