Hey people.
After flying from Sydney to Alice Springs in 3hours! Only half the width of the country! We started our rock tour.
The 1st morning we got picked up at 6.15am...this was too prove a very nice lay in for the next week or so!! We headed for Kata Juta (the olgas) for a walk through and around them. This was pretty cool although we did this walk during the afternoon the heat was almost unbearable and the amount of flies was ridiculous more than you can ever imagine. After we drove back to our camp site and after a nice dinner had our fist experience of sleeping in SWAGS, these are sleeping bags with matresses built in. Sleeping under the stars was amazing and it was almost a full moon so the sky was so bright. Luckily we weren't attacked by Dingoes, spiders or snakes although when we arrived a dingoe was just chilling in our camp site!! We watched the sunset over the Kata Juta and Uluru which was nice!
Next morning was up at 4.25am...1st time for everything!! We watched the sunrise which was cool although it was a bit crowded and we saw our 1st BIG spider! Hannah took a pic but i ran to the other side of the Northern Territory away form it!! Then we did a 10km base walk around Uluru which wasn't too bad as it was still early and not really really hot! After more driving we headed to a different camp and had some dinner and before we hit the swags again we stayed up and played cards and chatted with some of our group.
The final day we headed for Kings Canyon which is "Australia's grand canyon" This was quite a tough walk but very enjoyable and had great views. We stoppped at a place called the Garden of Eden which was a huge water pool there was only 4 of the whole group that went I went straight in and Hannah (after some persuasion) came in aswell! Was difficult getting out as it was so slippy but was a lot of fun.
After the 3days we headed back to Alice Spring for a lay in (6.30am!)
