It has been a while since updating our journal, as we are in Thailand now! It was quite a culture shock coming into Bangkok from Mumbai. There are lanes on the roads, and drivers follow road rules and use roundabouts properly. In India cars swerve in and out of other drivers, have their hand on the horn constantly(for letting drivers infront know they are there) and use their lights for road rage. We are now in Aurangabad, a dirty, dusty city about 350 km east of Mumbai. The reason we are here is to visit the caves of nearby Ellora and Ajanta. We hired a rickshaw yesterday to see Ellora and some of the surrounding sites. First we went to Daulatabad Fort, and then visited the tomb of Aurangzeb, a Mughal Emperor. Hi! We are now in Palolem as most of you know from the last entry! It is absolutly beautiful here, we left Colva (which was basically a loooooong stretch of sand) and drove south some more to Palolem (a bay with an island on the north end). Ever seen lost? Hello all, we are now in Colva, I think about 50 km further south than Anjuna. Not too much to report this week, mainly because we've been lazy b*****s lying around on the beach! Well as Katie said last week, we weren't exactly too happy with our accomodation in Anjuna, we eventually got moved into a nice room with a balcony and a hammock, which was great for a couple of days, until one evening, as I relaxed, reading in the hammock as it swayed gently in ...
