28th September. San Carlos de Bariloche, well placed in an area known as the Lake District. This time the coach journey was made easier thanks to some red wine (its only 1 pound a bottle, and good!!). Leaving the whales of Puerto Madryn we woke up 15 hours later, opened the curtains and were greeted with snow capped mountains reflected in the motionless lakes below them. The buildings had turned from painted concrete slabs to stunning wooden cabins surrounded by green, what a transformation! This town is famous for its skiing (largest resort in the south of… south America!), chocolate shops, more chocolate shops, chocolate factories and a ski clothes shops! We arrived at our hostel, the Tango Inn Downtown, it turns out to be probably our nicest hostel yet. We were shown to a double room with views straight onto the lake and mountains behind, then there is the free Jacuzzi with a view that would keep you there for hours! The crazy guys from Israel were also here but about to leave for Chile. Our first day we hit the slopes, the snow here is amazing and the view from the top…. well…see the pictures!!! We did however forget suncream…. after laughing at everyone on the bus back for having stupid white goggle marks around their eyes we got back to our room only to discover two Panda´s staring back at us in the mirror! We were bright red with massive white sunglass marks… which got worse by the minute!! To give you an idea how bad; when we walked in for breakfast the next morning everyone turned their heads, stopped eating, and just stared in amazement! So that day was spent amusing the locals around the town, Im sure some asked if they could have their picture taken with us, so we made a quick exit into a chocolate shop for some delicious cake. We have loved our time in Bariloche, just waking up and looking out onto the lake and mountains is a reason to visit, but tomorrow we take our Panda eyes further towards Santiago, a town called Mendoza… still in Argentina and famous for wine…. obvious why we choose it ey!?!!!
A bonus navic-pohled do dalekych zasnezenych hor a prilehlych jezer.

David Anytime we raise the issue of Uruguay casinos, it uasluly has something to do with the glitz and glamour of Punta del Este. Sure, coastal casinos like the Conrad are high-profile moneymakers, but what about the rest of Uruguay? Not unlike the trend we are seeing with real estate developers and franchise owners in Argentina, the smart money in Uruguay is looking to the interior.
