We finally left New Zealand and began the 11.5hr flight to reach Santiago, Chile 6 hours befoe we actually set off. That said, the jet lag kicked in pretty much instantly, so a few days of wandering round the city in a funny little fuzzy headed sleep state commenced. Unfortunately my severe lack of Spanish (which consists of my name is, were is...? and hello) are completly useless as no one seems to understand me anyway. How many ways are there say HOT DOG - read from the menu - that cant be understood?!?
Anyway, we then flew 5 hours back the way we cam to Easter Island, the remotest island in the world, famous for the giant stone head statues (Moai). Pretty awesome and awe inspiring they are too, we even managed to see one 24m underwater on a scuba dive. We just landed back in Santiago and in the morning hopefully we might visit a Concha Y Toro, home of fine Chilean wine (which by the way is 4 times cheaper than the bottles I usually get from Asda). After that the bus journey begin again and we are popping over the Andes to Mendoza in Argentina, conviently another great place for wineries :)
Thats it for now, wil get more pics on when can, love you all.
