India and Nepal 2022
Crocodiles have inhabited this planet for about 200 million years, elephants ànd rhinoceros for about 50 million. It puts our homo sapiens existence into perspective! They really are magnificent creatures when seen in the wild close up. A log canoe took me along the river this morning and there was an abundance of bird and animal life to view, including many crocodile along the banks of the river and in the water itself. A walk through the jungle was fun too, seeing animal tracks including bear, tiger and sloth. This afternoon's ride on an elephant gave a rare opportunity to view rhino really close up and watch them eating grass and moving slowly around. These magnificent creatures were once hunted by Nepali rulers as recently as the 1940s. Poaching was still a problem up to about twelve years ago but now, the animals and birds of the park are all well protected and live alongside wiser human beings.

Margita What a beautiful image to take back with you. So serene and full of promise.
Marilyn willwohl I have loved reading your blogs. This latest one has been great. Your time in the schools, I was impressed and pleased to know there is education for deaf and blind children. Your climb up Devchuli mountain and Baburam's classic comment at the end. You even milked a cow! I am sure you have made an impact during your time there and people you have met will be grateful and remember you fondly.
