See Capetown for the Kruger stuff until I figure out how to cut and paste!
Finished my time in SA off with a few days chilling out in Pretoria before heading over to Johanasburg for the final day. I decided to stay in Pretoria because everyone advised me that Jo'burg isn't too safe but there wasn't that much to do. Still, it was nice to catch my breath after a whirlwind three weeks. Don't know how many miles I covered but I know that there was a lot of time spent on the bus!
Jo'burg was OK but nothing special. I went on a tour to Soweto, the largest township in South Africa and I really couldn't believe the poverty that still exists. I was taken round a shanty town hut no bigger than my bathroom that housed three adults and three kids. I don't know how they managed to live like that but they all had smiles on their faces - it really puts things in perspective and makes you thankful for what you have. The Soweto tour was followed by a trip to the Apartheid museum which was really interesting, if a little disturbing.
All in all, I've really enjoyed my time in South Africa. Capetown and the Western Cape were definitely my favourites (apart from Kruger) and I'll definitely go back there to do all the stuff I didn't manage to do (including the cage dive!).
