Team Hiles have now ventured north again ready to set off on our first proper cruise - around the Galapagos - tomorrow. People always say you end up being your parents......

After chilling out in the Sacred Valley for a few days our Inca Trail weary bodies decided to give us another bout of food poisoning and Andean Man Flu. I can only imagine what wimps Franky thought we were as she had to set off on another solo day out before heading home after 2 lovely weeks with us.

Fully recovered and after another lovely couple of days in Cusco (eating at a British themed pub/restaurant to avoid risk of further illness) we flew back to Lima. With a few hours to kill I had dreams of watching the new Bond movie, Rhian on the other hand harboured desires for the final installment of the Twilight Saga - no need to clarify which film we ended up watching! It was surreal to find ourselves still in Lima after being in cinema and not in fact in Cabot Circus, Bristol.

Ever keen to push our relationship to new levels I have booked 5 flights in a fortnight (we have no tranquilisers with us remember!) so after return to Lima we headed off to our 5th country of the trip - Ecuador. After exploring the city of Quito we headed off for our obligatory cheesy Equator pics.

Ecuadorean food has been a delight but having found a lovely old cafe serving great soups we pushed our luck - returning to the same place for a third time and awaiting another wondeful broth full of meat - only to be served pig nipple (at least we hope it was pig) soup!

In the meantime we better pack up, bingo cards at the ready, for our cruise!
