Hi Rhian & Dan!
Just been looking at all your fab photos in China. You both look so happy and excited, apart from 'red faced Rhian'. I am delighted you are both having an amazing holiday. Kris is flying out to Bangkok on 28th August for 3 weeks he will be in Thailand for his 21st birthday!!! If you have any tips or good ideas for his holiday please let me know and I will pass them on to him. Laura was 30 yesterday but I think she is still in denial. Lol. Keep posting those fab photos. Much love to you both and take good care of yourselves.

Hi Uncle Dan & Auntie Rhian. I am enjoying my holiday. We went on the beach and played cricket I got tractor gaga out a lot. I have brought my dinosaur train with me. Hi to you both and HAPPY NEW YEAR!! I wanted to be clever and say it in Bolivian (Spanish?), so looked it up on Google and found something much more interesting. I want to know if you and Rhian followed the local custom? I'll copy and paste what I read here:
"Regarding the many different traditions for welcoming the New Year, the beautiful country of Bolivia couldn’t stay behind others, and for sure, brings out its very own expression of ‘luck’…
This time, I was quite surprised to find out how: WEARING YELLOW (AND OR) RED UNDERWEAR!
Similar to countries like Mexico, where colorful underwear is a ‘must-have’ for the New Year’s Eve, here in Bolivia, it’s important when the underwear is changed.
People have to buy some yellow [or red] underwear piece and to wait for midnight. When it comes they just run to a place to change it and believe that their luck will change as well! It’s also believed that this practice helps them find a loving mate. Red means an amorous love life ahead and yellow expresses the desire to gain money and wealth. The wishes of the locals are expressed via their underpants.
Think I’m just making it up? Take a look at the largest open market in Achumani, a residential area in La Paz, and tell me what you spot from the selling stands!"
Well obviously the red ones weren't required, but the yellow ones might have come in useful!
Enjoy the next stage, and here's hoping for as much fun in 2013 as you've had in 2012! Lots of love from Richard and I xxxxx
