I walked into the lobby lift as the door was already opmer.
As I was about to push my floor button the lady from reception ran across and called out "Stop You plungered to your dead."
Well in the last six days I had slept in 5 different countries and the other night in no man's land in the North Sea but the word DEAD needs no translation so I stepped out back into the lobby.
It seems that with one set of lifts already out they were using the second set but they had malfunctioned and became stuck so what she was trying to convey was if someone on the floors above opened the doors and stepped in they would fall to the ground floor and may die.
The title photo shows the ghost of one such unlucky person if you look closely.
Lets briefly bring yoou up to speed from my last blog at Padgett's in the UK.
The Tuesday night was at sea crossing the North Sea between the UK and Belgium.
Wednesday night was in Arnhem in The Netherlands.
Thursday night was in Hamburg,Germany.
Friday & Saturday nights were spent in Copenhagen,Denmark.
Tonight Sunday is at Gothenburg Sweden
and actually Monday night will be in Oslo,Norway.
I think that is proof enough to qualify as a World Traveller and must rank my Triumph right up there as one of the most travelled Triumph's.
Sweden however for a short visit has offered a unique and heartening eposide in this set of travels as a memorable aspect of the ABC's of motorcycle travels.
Sweden is one of the few countries to have borer controls so after a very long bridge ride from Denmark I paid my Toll about $37.50 and proceede to the border control, with nothing to eclare Immigrations was a very pleasant police Lady who asked a couple of questions wished me safe travels and i was free to go.
Apparently not quick enough for her male collegues who blew a whistle and ordered me to forget putting my gloves back on and to "ride up the road and do that."the lady frowned at their actions.
The roads are good dual lane but not to the super autostrada of ZGermany etc but with a reduced limit of either 110km or 120km.
Lunch was taken at a shopping centre so offered variety from roadhouses but like most coast are high as nyou travel North. My basic chicken burger with fries and a drink around $16.50.
Rain came and went so the wet suit was on until arrivial at the Hotel Orgryte but far from an orgy hotel it features a spacious old world lobby, lots of seating, large screen TV (enjoyed by guests as the World Cup is on) and a selection 24/7 of Tea's,Coffee's and cookies (for my USA & Canadian readers).
A short walk downtown saw us passing a cemetry well laid out on the mainstreet so life is never boring for the inhabitants.
Right next door is a Swedish famous Ice Cream makers shop so one can sit amongst the graves while enjoying a couple of scoops along with an unlimited number of toppings.
The city of Gothenburg is the second largest in Sweden and while we only get to see a very small part the building styles shown in the photographs give some idea of the styles needed to cope with the severe winter temperatures. The shops carried a large range of furnishings and decorator goods so life inside would not be boring.
Gothenburg is also famous for it piano manufacturers and one was located not far from our hotel and the photos depict both historic and current models.
Agricultually we passed large fields of crops such as wheat, oats, barley, rye.Alfa alfa for silage and potato's in the South where the growingseason canbe as long as 240days and as we progress North Forestry will become dominant.
Like so many countries the % of farmers have more then halved since the 1970's meaning very few children are following their parents into the family farming industry and so a shift of population has also followed to the major cities like Gothenburg.
Fortunately while today has been a one off my adventures in Sweden will continue after a stay in Norway the Northern most aspect of these travels.

Laura Well! put all that travelling in chronological order and that is quite a feat .....top marks to you and your Triumph, you have obviously seen and experienced much and you have expressed that well in these last two Blogs....How you have been able to get so much back ground information of these countries you have passed though so quickly is a mystory to me....good observation by you ...... Soooo pleased you didn't get 'DEADED" plunging to your dead.....apparition of some long departed soul s feet left to haunted the lobby.......
