v Nothing like a sweetcorn stall to bring out the prehistoric dog-eat-dog nature in a person.
One thing I've noticed about the security guards here in the Philippines is they basically do everything other than police work. The other day I was in KFC, I'd finished eating and the moment I stood up the security guard came over clearing my tray, wiping down the table and then resumed his high-profile job of opening and closing the doors for every customer. All the while a terrifying sawn-off shotgun rests gently around his neck and a pistol sits in a holster on his side. Is this really necessary? In KFC of all places. Although I guess it's best to just take precautions because we well know that the chicken in KFC has a habit of resurrecting out the cooker as a last chance escape from being battered in bread crumbs. Put the guns down Filipino police!!
