The Flight time from Perth to AdelIde is three hours which together with a two and a half time difference meant that we picked up our campervan at about 3.30pm. We left Auckland to fly to Perth with a quick change of aircraft in Melbourne. We had one hour forty minutes between our flight landing and the second one taking off. After our visit to the Cape we headed West to pick up the main coast highway South back towards Warkworth. On route we stopped off at museums in Dargaville and Matakohe which we found really interesting. We then spent our last night with Brian & Charmaine. Today we decided to visit Cape Reinga which is a very long peninsula, and the most Northern tip of NZ, it can be reached by vehicle along 90 mile beach but we decided to fly in an 8 seater plane. Another early start as we were picked up by coach and taken to the small airport at Kerikeri. The flight took us over Paihia and Russell and over the Bay of Islands towards the Cape, the flight was approximately 45 minutes long but to drive would have taken 4/5 hours. ...

Today we decided to take life a little easier. We enjoyed a short walk to the Waitangi Treaty Grounds, a very famous area in Maouri tradition, and on Friday 6th February it is a bank holiday here as New Zealanders celebrate the signing on the treaty with England 175 years ago.
