We had yet another once in a lifetime experience today when Ben and Lauren took us to a waterhole about 125k from Alice. The roads are long, straight and very well maintained and the scenery abosultely stunning. Very green trees and shrubs with red, red earth and surrounded by rocky ridges and mountain ranges.
When we arrived at the waterhole temperatures had climbed into the high 30's so after a short walk from the carpark it was straight into the cool water. Only one other couple were there when we arrived and after taking a couple of photos for us they went on their way. It was absolute bliss to float in the water which was very clear, but once you moved from the shore it soon became dark due to the depth so best not to think too much about what else was sharing the water with us!
