A good morning in San Francisco before our flight to Las Vegas.
We began with breakfast - is there any other way to begin a day on to foodie journey around North America.
We then wanted to get on a cable car for a journey up and over the steep hilly areas of the city. Well, our ignorance didn't work this time. We joined a queue for the next approaching cable car, but we should have joined at the end and not in the middle! So we gave up on that idea and instead caught a "street car", think only tram but electric and not like the cable cars who have a driver/brakeman. We went to the ferry terminal for a view of Bay Bridge and the pier areas. It was a good morning and we had a good discussion with a mother and daughter, mother from Washington State and daughter from New York. This is what travelling is also about - meeting different people and engaging with them. Back on another street car and to our hotel for a late check out and taxi to the airport.
We are leaving on a 3.00pm Virgin America flight to Las Vegas. An easy check in and then multiple security checks including a full body scan. The airport is very modern, spacious and somewhat relaxing for an airport. We had a good lunch of cheese platter, sourdough roll and coffee.
Next stop Las Vegas...boarding in 10 minutes. Farewell to the West Coast...on our way to the desert.
