It's gonna be a quick one - just came back from snorkelling on the Great Barrier Reef.... it was so amazing. I got a bit sea sick (well I felt really sick actually) on the way out there cos the boat was mega rocky. I feel like I'm rocking now!! I saw fish including the long thin silver/bluey ones which were circling me -scary, Seargant Major fish, and various colourful little schools of fish from bright blue to bright pink, as well as butterfly fish (some of wich were giant ones. I also saw the most beautiful sea slugs - yes sea slugs! They flitter about in the sea and were swimming beautifully in diagonal line.. The closer I got, the closer they got together. Sea turtles were one of my fav's and they swim so peacefully - I fed it and touched it's shell - so cute, like old wrinkly grandma's! I saw SHARK! Reef shark that it (not dangerous apparently, so I felt quite calm when I saw it - maybe cos there were loads of other snorkellers about and my chances of being the one it ate were reduced!). That's the second shark in my life I've ever swam near - the first was a nurse shark which I saw in Cancun (Mexico) last year. What else... I saw giant clams the size of dolly pushchairs (it's the only thing I could think of comparing it to...sorry!). They were living cos they had colourful lip rims and u could see the fleshy soft coral or animal - whatever it was, moving inside and breathing (I think). No scuba diving for me cos of my light asthma, but I still saw loads. Oh and the jellyfish! I didn't get too close cos I didn't know if it was a box jelly - they are on the Cairns coast at this time of year! Gotta go - bye xxxx
