Your 'very scary creature' in Brazil is a Cassowary and they are indeed VERY scary creatures! I bumped into one in the rainforest in Australia-no fences between me and it and I feared for my life!
I have begun the countdown until you arrive back in Blighty, I'm sure you're less than pleased by the idea but I can't wait! Jo is back this weekend and Tom is back around the same time as you so I'll have all my favourite people back in the same country as me-hurray!

Hi Reix,
Apologies for only just posting on your travel blog, I recently got on facebook and found this link - sounds like you are having a great time and I am much impressed by the camping! Life in sunny chelt is going well, I am on the move to a 2 bed house in Tivoli to live it up in the town centre and enjoy the last bits of summer before the inevitable rain, boo.
Fraid I have fewer exciting travel stories than your good self but have been away to Chester Cathedral for Hatfield choir tour where we lived like students (tesco value food and all) and dressed up in togas for a romp around the roman walls at 10 at night. Not exactly living on the edge but rather amusing after behaving all responsibly like the civil servant I am. Abd if that wasn't enough singing I have been doing the rounds of weddings which is great fun. So few opportunities to dress up now we're not at uni!
Anyway, have a great few last weeks and hope to see you on your return. I imagine chelt is probably the last thing on your mind with all the excitements of london to look fwd to, but give me a call if you're in town or I'll pop up to see you in your new high powered job!
all my love

Reiko honey, too long once again! and now I can't remember what you know and what you don't! suffice to say, having a great time in London at the mo, having sorted out the stressful job question. Am now planning to make the most of my free time, and go on as many holidays as possible before starting work on the 4th Sept.
So am off to introduce Daan to the Lake District, with the aid of a tent...pray for sun for us. Otherwise it could be a rather soggy week. But this is all just practice, getting my walking shoes on again, because shortly after that I'm off to Morocco with my brother. Which should be amazing. Planning to 'do' Marrakech in style, then backpack around a bit, possibly up to Fes, before embarking on a hike up the High Atlas Mountains. Complete with guide and mule, we shall be ascending to the topper-most tip of the highest peak, which stands at over 4100m. Any tips for avoiding altitude sickness? It's all looking pretty exciting. And then two days after returning I shall officially be a city girl, commuting to Blackfriars. By which time you shall have returned to the UK, and I shall positively DEMAND a reunion.
Missing you lots, despite all the excitement. The length of time I haven't seen you for makes it harder, rather than easier. Rubbish. When you back? Soo much to catch up on.
Lots love, take care m'dear! xxxx

Hello! Glad to hear it's all going excellently... I continue to be jealous of your adventures and exploits and as always sorry for my intermittent contact. Lourdes was AMAZING, inspiring and uplifting; words just don't begin to do justice to the experience and if I try I'll end up gushing and sounding insincere. Now back to reality and having a nasty time with horrible London letting agents. At the moment they are refusing to give James (flatmate) and I another bed when they promised we could have one. The w***ers.
Speak soon ma cherie.

V jealous about the skiing obviously.
We found cheese of some form in the Lord Jim, although after one too many caipirinhas (which by a process of trial and error we now know is 4) i found myself in the massage circle with gunnar and a random and then tried to go swimming but wimpd out when i saw the size of the waves...
faye left us after her 4 caips and was then puking all night hehe! i had another hangover from hell today and i have realised the whole going out/staying up late thing has pushed my ´feeling human´ threshold back to around 9pm... which doesnt make for productive days. But at least didnt miss any sunbathing as it is still raining.
Dont freeze yourself silly in Bariloche, hope the tango was fun - you´ll be dancing around with those argies boys in no time!

Yo!
Check out my pics from the Rio tour (www.statraveljournals.com/faithquigley), I went on it yesterday - just like you said, absolutely amazing! But, shock horror, woke up this morning to an almighty gale blowing and yes, even here in Rio, rain.... Thank god i did the tour yesterday, im sure its not half as impressive in damp drizzle.
Hope you got the bus and everything ok?! I guess I kind of abandoned you!! But I think i was still feeling the after-effects of hangover from hell all day yesterday - was sooooooo tired. We went to see Superman - v good, but v v v cheesy! Still havent found a cheesy night in Rio yet, but think we´re off out tonight as it is Gunnar ´I dont drink in Iceland´s last night so I´ll update you soon.....!
Much Rio love...

Things are looking up. I have interviews with Bloomberg and Foxtons next week- wohoo! Both are immediate starts- get back to the UK so we can start looking for our bachelorette pad!! fingers crossed for Bloomberg interview- it's in the City, and I'd get to use Chinese and French.

Those are some staggeringly imressive mental recall skills - identifying both platform sandals and hair extensions? After months of camping? surely you only know the language of hiking boots and dreadlocks by now?! That private education obviously served you well in life skills.
The joys of the flat hunt have again become aparent - looking for a flat with 2 netballers and a lacrosse girl (hockey girls will be distinctly unimpressed) so think we might be off to the bush! Looking forward to having you back, feel the need for a proper catch up. Haven't had anyone to come and stay for an entire week since you left and am feeling unloved!
Enjoy the last few weeks - looking forward to seeing you again!! bog smooch xoxox

hello gorgeous travelling girly,
well- you've done better than me... me and Reems lasted 6 days on our trip down to the south of France... and now I'm back in Bath. Long story for another day but suffice to say I'm 23, unemployed, boyfriendless, and living with my Mum. I miss you Cakes! What date are you coming back? Sorry... I know you're having fun, but I am selfish! ha ha!
Looking for a job at the moment. i'm so sorry if I was anything less than uber-supportive to you last summer- it's flipping hard! Anyways... all is not that bad. May be off to New York with my Dad on 17th Aug which wld be fun, and potentially going on hol with mum sometime in Sept. Fancy a break? where shall we go?!
Love you tonnes

you are a lying rotter, my uni email is still active (altho i suspect not for long..) and i most certainly have not recieved an email from you. just to be on the safe side send it (once you have written it rather than lying and saying you have...) to [email protected] and i'll be the happiest man in the world.
hope the heat isn't as horrible as it is here. I graduate on thursday and my photos will undoubtably be red faced and sweaty...
