After we got off the internet last night we headed back towards the hostel. It was only about six o'clock but it was starting to get dark. We had dinner, burgers and chips.... well needed, and walked back through the temples that were light up in their night time orange. It made the place no more and no less creepy, although it didnt really make either of us feel any more rushed to get back. They looked nice at night all light up, and you couldnt see all the rubbish on the ground too! We passed a pub that was showing Man Utd versus West Ham so we stopped in there to watch Utd over turn a two nil "hammering" to win 4-2..... nice!!!!!

Today I got up early, about seven. I was hoping to get out for a run before it got too hot... I was too late. It already felt hot as hell, and I felt tired and stiff as hell too, the traveling takes its toll I guess since we were both wiped out last night. I went off around the area for 40 minutes and it proved very enlightening. The place is at best squalid and at worst decrepid. Its like a historical park run by the tinkers, no offence to the tinkers ability to run a park of course. The place is filthy, and it smells. I know I have said this before about other Thai towns/cities, but this is taking the michael. Tinkers would be ashamed of this place in fairness to them. There are wild dogs roaming around in packs everywhere, a little bit scary. The people seem less friendly here too, and more starey... though some still smile I guess. I got back none to worse for wear and we had some breakfast then off we went temple hunting again. By now its midday and it feels like its about 40 degrees outside. We are hiding in an internet cafe working out how to get south to the islands again, any excuse to be indoors in the air con really. We walked around some other temples today, but at this stage I think we are happy to say we have seen enough of temples. The nicest ones are outside the city, and I will be damned if I am getting on a tuk tuk out there in this heat to look at something which might be a little bit nicer than the ones we have seen... defeatist yes, but so what.... its time for the beach again!!!!

Our plan looks like this... train to Bangkok, taxi to khoa san road to get a bus to the ferry port down in Chumphon and over to Koh Phangan by breakfast time tomorrow morning.... easy peasy!!!!! Hopefully they have the internet down there, otherwise sure I might get online again in Kilkenny in a few weeks time....
