Didnt really get time yesterday to upload any photos or tell you anything about the Inca Trail.... I dont plan on getting the time right now either because we have to leave altitude and return to sea level in an hour and a half and Regina has left my clothes all over the floor of our room. Needless to say we made it back alive, it was amazing. I have looked through the photos as I backed them up to my iPod and on the large screen we have here they almost do themselves justice, but not fully. Only people who have been to properly mountainous areas can imagine what it is like to stand at the bottom of a valley surrounded on all sides by jungle covered, snow capped mountains for a few thousand meters above you on all sides... and then walk up and over them for about 40 km over 4 days (I just smiled to myself). Personally, I loved this adventure, and it was probably the highlight of the trip so far (no prizes for guessing who is writing this then). The size of the location, the quality of the paths (the handmade paths), the group of people we trekked with (more to follow on them lot), the porters and guides (heroes all of them), and the final arrival at Machu Picchu will all remain in my mind for a very long time. The story will begin later today when we get to Lima (if we have internet there), and the story will begin at half five on a Friday morning......
