OK I know some of ou might be wondering what happened to the original site. Well issues let me just say just issues. You can still have access to it to read some stories and to look at some photos but you will need to read and look at photos and post new messages on this site... ok.
so how is Barcelona, it is amazing. Clearly it is a favorite city for me if to visit again in the future. Im stying in a hostel in the Las Ramblas area. Las Ramblas is a favorite place to go to when in Barcelona. Everyday its like a festival here. The street is filled with vendors selling art and jewelery and other stuff. There are at least 1 dozen small flower stands and 6 small pet stands selling rabbits, fish, chickens, roosters, and other odd animals. there are also many street mimes, caricature artists, musicians, etc. all along this 1.5 mile stretch. It is filled with people all day and night long. When I first got here it was around 7-8pm and the street was alive was activity. It seems as if I feel into a huge party.
Also my taste buds was eager to try out the many different types of restaurants around the area...Asian, Mediterranean, American European. this is more like it rather than in Italy. I love Italy but once again the food variety was a bit lacking.
The next day, I rented a scooter to zip around town. I had it for about 11 hours that day and I must say it was the most fun I had cruising around any city. Once I got used to the traffic and the signals I felt like a real local. I went almost everywhere from the touristic area to where the locals lived. It was a blast. The day was bright and warm with a deep blue sky. I drove around town, to the coast and up th mountain along the Med to a park overlooking the city and the port. Also further up was an old fort complete with large cannons and a draw bridge.
There are also a good size Filipino population here. 2000 someone said. They where having a big music and food festdown by the water front. I had a chance to eat fried rice, barbeque beef on a stick and two egg rolls. mmmmmm so good.
In my samll room of 8 beds, there occupied four young girls and 4 guys. Three of the girls are 19 from the states studying in London for several months and 2 guys are from Italy, another girls from Germany and a nother guy from Croatia. All very nice people.
That night I went out for some paella and sangria and clubbing with the three American girls and two guys from the UK. Boy let me tell you these girls to drink....jeez louiseez. If only there parents can see them now. Over dinner they told me their ages and then ask for mine. the girls are 19 and the guys are 21. I told them I was 25, hahahaha, of course they bought it. oh man so funny. It felt funny because I tried to get into their conversation but had a difficult time without speaking beyond what they could understand. Anyway it was fun living like a youngster again. Got back at 4am.
The following day I just chilled down by the beach reading a good book called The Alchemist by Paulo Cohelo. A must read for all of you. Then I took a nap the first one in this entire trip and it was a good time also because it poured raining for that time.
That evening I met up with a lady who gave me her phone number while I was touring around in the scooter. We had a great mediteranean dinner and converstation. I wont say more.
So I missed my flught to Prague. The train I boarded was wrong everything is in spanish and oh well. Im was a bit disappointed. It is the first flight I have ever missed in my life. But i know it was meant to be. I am to do something or meet someone that I am supposed to do or meet. What Im not sure but its been preordained. We´ll see.
